Darwin published his idea of natural selection in his book, “The Origin of Species” about 150 years ago. While natural selection is now widely accepted, some people still have problems understanding it.
There are three major ways that Darwin has been misunderstood. These understandings are:

X that "survival of the fittest" means only the strongest and fastest survive;

X that natural selection is at random;

X and that an organism can evolve over its lifetime.
