The Fight/Flight Response
Release of glucose from the liver is one
part of the complex fight/flight response that the body
orchestrates to cope with a perceived threat.
If it were not for the fight/flight response,
our primate ancestors would likely have been gobbled
up by some hungry carnivore. And Beth might not have
mustered up enough reserves to successfully answer her
lecturer's question!
